Chris Craft has always created art. Since earning his BFA from UNC-Charlotte in 1994, he's juggled commercial and fine art. In January 2014, this Canyon Lake, TX painter became a full time artist.

Chris is best known for his encaustic paintings. He fell in love with the medium from the moment he discovered it over eighteen years ago. The wax lends itself perfectly to his abstracted landscape imagery. In 2016, the artist took an encaustic class with Lisa Pressman at Penland School of Crafts. Since Chris was self-taught he wanted to know what else he could learn from another professional encaustic artist.

Thanks to Arts & Science Council, he was awarded an artist support grant. He also, in 2016, was an ArtPop artist (had billboard of his encaustic throughout the year) and was a CSA (Community Supported Art) artist - creating 50 original paintings for these collectors.

Member of IEA (International Encaustic Artists).

Chris loves to teach encaustic and schedules private sessions. For more info, see Artist's resume' here.
